Foundation members attended the S.K.Ball on September 9th. The SK Ball is an annual fundraiser by Ronald McDonald House of the Inland Northwest. The group included several people from Lakeside Companies (the company John founded) activities entities and Architerra was an event sponsor. Andi B. of Zi Spa won the coveted bull riding competition and belt buckle.
Sponsorship of this event was a continuation of support for RMCH of the Inland Northwest. Last year, we donated $50,000 to Ronald McDonald House to help support the capital campaign for Northern Idaho House – a new building that opened in March 2020. Prior to this expansion, an average of fourteen families a day were on our waiting list for somewhere to stay while their children received medical treatment.
Currently, RMHC can house 64 families a night in three houses; however ongoing support is still needed. Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Inland Northwest provides temporary lodging, social and emotional support, at no charge, for families of children accessing medical services. The Spokane area is a premier medical destination and families face difficult decisions as many are unable to pay for a hotel. Instead, they have to sleep in their cars, sleep in hospital waiting rooms, or leave their hospitalized infant or child to travel home. More than half face incredible financial hardships due to loss of income(s) and mounting medical bills.
Architerra, Zi Spa, and the John J. Hemmingson Foundation will continue to support this important cause. To donate or get involved, visit their site:
